According to the policies of the DeForest Area School District, every child who meets the entry age criteria and is a legal resident within the district boundaries will be admitted to the school in the district. This emphasizes the right to equal use of educational opportunities. If you would like to confirm your child’s registration at the elementary school level, please call (608) 842-6528 to contact the district registrar. They will help you to get more information about the registration process and take the necessary steps.

If you do not currently reside within the boundaries of the DeForest Area School District and would like to attend schools in this area, please visit the Wisconsin Department of Public Education’s (DPI) Open Enrollment site. This site allows students to continue their education by applying to different school districts. For more information about the Open Registration process and requirements, you can visit the official website of the DPI.

District’s enrollment process in now completely digital and can be completed by filling out an enrollment application online.

If you do not have access to a computer, please contact the registrar to make an appointment. Then they will bring you to one of the district buildings. They will also be available to assist you in the application process if necessary.

Final Steps
The parent/ legal quardian will ned to provide the three required documents listed below:
1. Proof of Residency (Slect one of the following)

  • Lease Agreement that includes the current address, names of individuals residing at the address, the effective date and the signatures of all parties involved.
  • Recent Utility Bill (dated withing the last 45 days) such as gas, electric, cable or city/village water bill, including both the name and current address.
  • Home Puchase Agreement or Offer to purchase with the name of buyer and seller and current address.

NOTE: We Cannot accept cell phone conracts, driver’s license or financial documents. If you are not lesssee or homeowner, proof of residency is still required along with a letter from the lessee or homeowner stating you are residing there.

  1. Parent/ Guardian proof of identification
  • Only parents or legal quardians may enroll a student. Please bring proof of identification for yourself to your enrollment meeting.

Documents may be uploaded into Skyward. The Enrollment Specialist will review the online application a contact the family. Next steps may include:

  • İn- person meeting for document verification and follow-up questions;
  • Finalizing registration (inperson, maileddocuments, online).
